The Kenya urban roads authority –KURA - is in the process of implementing a 1.4 billion shilling intelligent traffic system that seeks to reduce traffic and monitor traffic offenders in the city. Supreme court denies Chebukati powers to amend election results incase of errors
The supreme court has upheld a court of appeal decision in June this year declaring that presidential election results declared at the constituency level are final. Effectively denying IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati the powers to amend errors on election results. Justice Philomena Mwilu while delivering the majority decision of five judges with justice Jackton Ojwang giving a concurring opinion ruled that incase of discrepancies in forms 34a and 34b Chebukati should notify the public,announce the results and leave the matter to the supreme court.   Read More ...

Opposition calls off rally in Laare-Meru after violent confrontations

DP Ruto assures Kenyans of security at polling stations during the Election Day
Deputy President William Ruto has assured Kenyans that security will be beefed up in all polling stations during the October 26th repeat presidential election to ensure no one is stopped from exercising their constitutional right. Speaking during a campaign tour of Migori, Kisii and Kericho counties,Ruto warned the opposition against any attempts to bar voters from participating in the election. Police recover a military grade M-4 assault rifle, and bullets at tycoon's house
The drama surrounding prominent businessman Jimi Wanjigi, has deepened after police said they had recovered a high calibre mark-4 rifle and 600 bullets after a day long siege on his palatial Muthaiga home. The recovery of the U.S manufactured assault rifle happened hours after Wanjigi moved to court and obtained orders restraining the police from arresting, entering or interfering with his private residence without a court order. Death toll from Somali bombing attack rises to 300
The death toll in last weekend's bomb attack in Mogadishu - Somalia has now risen to 300 people with over 500 others reported to have incurred injuries of varying degrees. The communication on the attack, which has been termed the deadliest in somalia’s history was made as several people who sustained injuries were airlifted to turkey for specialized treatment. Odinga asisitiza hatoshiriki kwenye uchaguzi mkuu wa Oktoba 26
Kinara wa NASA Raila Odinga amekashifu hatua ya IEBC kumweka kwenye karatasi ya uchaguzi huku akisistiza kwamba hatoshiriki katika uchaguzi wa marudio Oktoba ishirini na sita. Odinga aliyasema haya katika mkutano wake wa kwanza tangu alipotangaza kujiondoa kwenye uchaguzi punde tuu alipowasili mjini Mombasa kutoka Uingereza. Vilevile Odinga amekana madai ya kutafta serikali ya nusu mkate kupitia ziara yake ngambo ambapo rais Uhuru amemkashifu kwa kurai viongozi wa Marekani na Uingereza kutatua zogo la kisiasa.   Read More ...
