State to pay out Sh319 million for livestock insurance in 6 counties
The government will payout Sh319 million for livestock insurance in six counties that were severely affected by drought during the just-ended long rains season. Agriculture CS Willy Bett said a total of Sh319, 191,600 will be paid out to 11,407 pastoralists from Marsabit, Wajir, Isiolo, Mandera, Turkana and Tana River counties. Bars in Isiolo, Meru ordered closed ahead of poll
Isiolo County Commissioner George Natembeya has ordered the closure of all bars in the county by 9pm Monday evening to enable voters exercise their voting rights while sober.
